Retreat
Once a year, the Quintessential Quilters hosts a winter retreat
for all current and paid members. The retreat is held at Deer Creek
State Park - about a 45 minute car ride from Columbus, Ohio. Quilters
can choose to stay in the lodge in a room (1-4 persons), a loft (1-8
people), or can elect to stay in a cabin (1-7 people) - a short 5-
minute walk from the lodge.
The ballroom is reserved and set up for the quilters with ample room
for everyone's projects. We also work on group projects. The retreat
starts on a Friday at 1:00pm and lasts until 5:00pm on Sunday. An informal
dinner get-together on Friday night, a social hour and dinner banquet
is held on Saturday evening and a brunch is provided on Sunday morning.
This retreat is organized by a retreat committee and all attempts are
made to keep the prices as low as possible for all of our members to
enjoy the time together. In the past we have also had massages available
and door prizes for the attendees. Sign ups for this retreat are generally
held in October and November of the previous year and space is limited.
