Minutes from the October 12, 2006
Quintessential Quilters Meeting
The October 12 meeting of QQ was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by President
Beckey McIntyre. Guests and new members were welcomed and October birthdays were
recognized. Two greeting cards were circulated for members who are ill. Bev
Young had donated several boxes of leftovers from her porch sale at the Glass
Thimble which were available for members to purchase. All proceeds will go to
Kids N Kamp.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Joan Tuttle’s Charm retreat, scheduled for November 17-19 is at the
break even rate. Contact Joan if you still want to attend and make checks
payable to her.

Wendy Bynner has many Choices quilt kits available to take home and finish.
- Vicki Pignatelli will be presenting workshops in November. Friday, November 10
is "Making Holes in Quilts" and Saturday, November 11 is
"Manipulations". The
cost is $65.00 for one day or $110.00 for both. Please contact Jodi Wigton ASAP
if you are interested. We must have more sign-ups to hold this workshop.
- Linda Tuefel of Dragonthreads Publishing is planning a new book on organizing
a group quilt. She would like members to sign up to help with this project at
the retreat in February. It should only take an hour or two of your time.

- Kay Hoagland reminded members of the Kids N Kamp Quilt Auction
at the Shoe on
Thursday, October 26. You may call the KNK office (262-2220) for tickets.
- Mike Weatherby reminded everyone that the sign-ups for the QQ Retreat at Deer
Creek (February 23-25, 2007) will be completed in November. Don’t delay if you
are planning to attend.
PROGRAM:
Our speaker for the evening was Deborah Green, Education Director for Olfa. Deb
shared some of the history of the Olfa company and then demonstrated both old
and new tools available from the company. For more tips and projects, you can

Deborah also provided lots of door prizes!
Show and tell completed the evening. Next meeting will be Thursday, November 9
with speaker Vicki Pignatelli.
