Minutes from the April 12, 2007
Quintessential Quilters Meeting

President Beckey McIntire called the meeting to order and recognized April birthdays. There were no visitors in attendance.

Business:

  •   Kathy Mackley has updated the QQ by-laws and brought them into compliance with IRS guidelines. Copies of the revised by-laws will be included with the next newsletter, so they can be voted upon at the May meeting.
  •   The June banquet will be June 14, 2007, the final regular meeting for this year. An indoor picnic is being planned. The guild will provide the main dish and each member is asked to contribute $2.00 and either a side dish or a dessert. More details will follow. Vicky Victor and Kathy Mackley are the planners.
  •   Scissors sharpening will be offered at the May meeting. Cost is $5.00 for straight scissors and $7.00 for pinking shears.
  •   The QQ board will meet next Tuesday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Panera in Olentangy Plaza (corner of Bethel Rd and Olentangy River Rd). Any interested member is welcome to attend.
  •   Kay Hoagland reminds members to be making ornaments for the Christmas tree for the Kids N Kamp auction next fall.
  •   The President’s Challenge is due in May, as well as the Hidden Blocks Challenge.
  •   Janet White asked for volunteers for the NQA show, June 7-9. White glove attendants and door monitors are the most needed.
  •   Mike Weatherby was the Featured Quilter for the evening and she shared several of her quilts, warmth and wit. Mike also reminded guild members to be making Little Quilts for the NQA Little Quilt Auction.
  •   The evening’s basket raffle raised approximately $80.00
  •   The auction of 4 more of the donated quilt tops raised $180.00 for Choices.
  •   Show and tell completed the evening.
