Minutes from the February 8, 2007
Quintessential Quilters Meeting
President Beckey McIntyre called the meeting to order. New members were
welcomed and February birthdays were recognized.
Beckey received an email about a sewing, quilting and embroidery festival to be
held in Cincinnati at the end of May. QQ has been invited to have a booth at
this show - for free. If you are interested in this project, please contact
Beckey.
Retreat information was sent via US mail. If you didn’t receive yours, pick it
up at the break. If you are reading this and still do not have your information,
contact Mike Weatherby or Peggy Notestine.
Some information for those participating in Linda Tuefel’s group quilt project
at the retreat:
- A photographer will be there to take pictures for the book
- You will need to sign a release for your picture to appear in print
- Linda will have fabric, but your are welcome to bring some from your stash
- You will receive a great goodie bag when you turn in your blocks
- Linda still needs 2-3 people to test the instructions.
Marilyn Ackerson has been contacted by a man who is trying to dispose of the
extensive quilting materials belonging to his deceased wife. If he can’t find a
buyer, he will be donating to a charity quilting organization. Contact Marilyn
for more information.
Kathy O’Sullivan will not be able to present her program for the April
meeting. Instead, we will have another session of “raffle baskets.” More details
are coming next month.
Four donated quilt tops were auctioned with proceeds ($220.00) going to
Choices. We will have two more of these auctions at the March and April
meetings.
Speaker for the evening was Debbie Hobbs who spoke about longarm quilting and
showed several of her quilts.
Show and tell completed the evening.
Respectfully submitted, Jane Hedge Secretary
