Minutes of the February 9, 2006 Quintessential Quilters Meeting

President Joanne Purcell called the very full meeting to order at 7:00. In attendance were 96 members and 29 guests! The brief agenda included:

Quilt In - March 25 from 10-4 at Mountview Baptist Church

The project will be the Quilt Diva pattern, but there will also be Choices quilts to work on or you may bring your own project. Several demos will take place throughout the day and there will be door prizes, lunch and dessert. Kortney Kenzie is coordinating this day and she will take names in March for a lunch headcount.

Kortney is also organizing a retreat to Amish country on March 31 through April 2. See or call Kortney to sign up.

Kids and Kamp Quilt Auction – Thursday, October 26, 2006 at "The Shoe"

This annual auction raises money for the Kids and Kamp charity, serving children (and their families) who have cancer. QQ will decorate a Christmas tree with scarlet and/or gray ornaments. Kay Hoagland is our contact for this activity.

2006-2007 Officers

Kay Hoagland has agreed to continue as the QQ librarian.  Maria Slayman will help Ann with the treasury for the rest of this year and is willing to continue next year.  Anyone else interested in an office, please contact Joanne!

Correction to the January minutes: The sewing room makeover winner is Geraldine Mancini.

Ruth B. McDowell was our speaker.  She shared slides of her work and told the story of her quilting journey. After hearing her speak, those of us who are not taking her class are quite envious of those who are.

Show and tell completed the evening.
